The men's prostate is a vital portion of a male's reproductive system. It secretes fluids that help the transportation and activation of sperm. The prostate is situated just before the rectum, below the bladder and around the urethra. When there is prostate problem, in most cases very uncomfortable and inconvenient to the patient as his urinary system is directly affected.

The common prostate medical problems are prostate infection, enlarged prostate and cancer of the prostate.



Prostate infection, also referred to as prostatitis, is easily the most common prostate-related condition in men younger than 55 years. Infections with the prostate related are classified into four types - acute bacterial prostatitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, chronic abacterial prostatitis and prosttodynia.

Acute bacterial prostatitis is the least common coming from all kinds of prostate infection. It is due to bacteria based in the large intestines or urinary tract. Patients may feel fever, chills, body aches, back pains and urination problems. This condition is treated by utilizing antibiotics or non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to alleviate the swelling.

Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a condition of the particular defect inside gland and also the persistence presence of bacteria within the urinary tract. It can be brought on by trauma for the urinary tract or by infections originating from other regions of the body. A patient may feel testicular pain, lower back pains and urination problems. Although it is uncommon, it could be treated by removal with the prostate defect followed by the utilization antibiotics and NSAIDs to help remedy the inflammation.

Non-bacterial prostatitis accounts for approximately 90% of prostatitis cases; however, researchers have not to determine what causes these conditions. Some researchers believe that chronic non-bacterial prostatitis occur due to unknown infectious agents while other feel that intensive exercise and lifting might cause these infections.

Maintaining a Healthy Prostate

To prevent prostate diseases, an effective diet is important. These are some from the steps you can take to maintain your prostate healthy.

1. Drink sufficient water. Proper hydration is important for general health and will also also maintain your urinary track clean.

2. Some studies claim that several ejaculations per week will assist to prevent cancer of prostate.

3. Eat steak without excess. It has been shown that consuming a lot more than four meals of beef every week will raise the likelihood of prostate diseases and cancer.

4. Maintain a proper diet with cereals, vegetable and fruits to ensure sufficient intake of nutrients needed for prostate health.

The most crucial measure to consider to be sure a healthy prostate is to select regular prostate health screening. If you are forty years of age and above, you need to opt for prostate examination at least once a year.

Hi there Jill, having some problems with a pattern, it's Amelia, version 3 in 18/20'' size, can't seem to get the triangle pattern on the back right. Have frogged twice, still can't make it work. Could be me of course, I am tired. Haven't tried the fronts as yet, hope they work. Cheers Heather

Thank you for your comment. I does actually say that the files are sent in PDF via email. I am sure you appreciate that the time difference does have an effect and that they may be a delay due to the time difference as emails are sent manually.

VERY VERY excited to start knitting those fabulous shawls, but clearly misunderstanding the instructions - it says "instant download pdf" - so I assumed that it all happens automatically - but nothing yet - so maybe it's not all automatic and I will have to wait till after the weekend ??
